The Lori Kauffman Volunteer Of The Month Award Marilyn Ranck is the recipient of the April 2010 Lori Kauffman Volunteer of the Month Award
Congratulations to Marilyn Ranck, our April Volunteer of the Month! Marilyn volunteers in a variety of different areas within the organization, including adoption days, fostering dogs, and the intake team. Marilyn became involved with GRRA when she found a golden retriever and called a Labrador Retriever rescue group that directed her to GRRA. Marilyn was put in touch with Ray Toth. Ray visited the dog and took him into GRRA's program. Ray got Marilyn more involved in GRRA and showed her how to evaluate dogs who might be candidates for GRRA, such as testing their temperament. Marilyn is GRRA's "eyes and ears" at the Hall County Humane Society where she also volunteers regularly. She has brought several dogs into GRRA's program, such as Buddy, Sinatra, Silas, Riley, Jenna, Cuervo, Luke, Marcel, and many others, from the Hall County Humane Society. Marilyn loves dogs and likes being able to do her part to save a dog's life. Thank you, Marilyn, for all you do for GRRA and the dogs! Lori Kauffman, who passed away in 2007, was a GRRA™ volunteer who wanted to ensure that GRRA™ continued to do its valuable work. Lori wanted people to know, "Dogs are not disposable. Having a dog is a lifelong commitment. They are an equal part of the family". If you are aware of a volunteer's efforts that exemplify what is needed to make our volunteer organization survive and thrive, please send a note to volunteer@grra.com. Monthly Nominations are due by the 17th of each month. Click here to see previous award winners. |
