The Lori Kauffman Volunteer Of The Month Award Barry Levine is the recipient of the February 2008 Lori Kauffman Volunteer of the Month Award
Barry has been involved with GRRA for the past four years along with the help of his wife Carol Shipley. They have become a very important team that fills major roles in getting our dogs placed. Barry is involved with intake, home checks, triever taxi, photographing dogs and he also MC'ed at the Rescue Romp. He says that a picture is worth a thousand words. When you see a dog that came into the program, happy with the new adoptive family, makes all of his efforts worthwhile. The most rewarding part of volunteering with GRRA for Barry is placing a dog with a new family, the completion of the process. Barry's enthusiasm is contagious when it comes to GRRA and his efforts are greatly appreciated. Thank you for all that you do! Lori Kauffman, who passed away in 2007, was a GRRA™ volunteer who wanted to ensure that GRRA™ continued to do its valuable work. Lori wanted people to know, "Dogs are not disposable. Having a dog is a lifelong commitment. They are an equal part of the family". If you are aware of a volunteer's efforts that exemplify what is needed to make our volunteer organization survive and thrive, please send a note to volunteer@grra.com. Monthly Nominations are due by the 17th of each month. Click here to see previous award winners. |
