The Lori Kauffman Volunteer Of The Month Award Jill McGoff is the recipient of the January 2008 Lori Kauffman Volunteer of the Month Award
Jill has been with GRRA for several years, and is one of the most active fosters. Cosmo, adopted in March, was her 50th foster dog and she has fostered another 16-17 dogs since then. In recent months, Jill fostered Emory and her 10 pups. 'They could stay for the duration because my husband could see we were moving things along, and I think that made it much easier for adopters, to be able to come to one place and see all the options and meet the proud mama at the same time,' Jill said in a previous newsletter about Emory and the Pups. Fostering has become a family affair at the McGoff house. Her children, especially her daughter, help take care of the foster puppies. Two years ago, it was at the request of Jill's daughter that they started fostering puppies again. Her daughter has attended several adoption days to help show the puppies. Thank you, Jill for all of your hard work! Lori Kauffman, who passed away in 2007, was a GRRA™ volunteer who wanted to ensure that GRRA™ continued to do its valuable work. Lori wanted people to know, "Dogs are not disposable. Having a dog is a lifelong commitment. They are an equal part of the family". If you are aware of a volunteer's efforts that exemplify what is needed to make our volunteer organization survive and thrive, please send a note to volunteer@grra.com. Monthly Nominations are due by the 17th of each month. Click here to see previous award winners. |
