GRRA

Daphney written by Victoria H.

We just wanted to say hello and thank GRRA for allowing us to find our second golden and make her part of our family. We adopted our first golden girl, Lucky, in 1995, two years before our now 12 year old son was born. She was our first baby before our son Robert was born in August of 1997. Robert was Lucky's buddy. She'd get up when he began to crawl and then walk. She kept him safe and sound, making sure that he did not fall down any stairs or go out any doors.

In 2006, Lucky was diagnosed with a malignant tumor on her spleen; the vet gave her about 3-4 months tops. She outlived the vet's grim prediction and was with our family until May 6, 2007. It was so hard to say "goodbye" as all pet owners know.

In May 2008, we found our second golden girl, Daphney, at the Adoption Day. Beth and her husband were Daphney's foster parents. Daph had a rough life and was a bit on the nervous side, especially meeting new people and other dogs in a large crowd. We met Daph, and we knew she was meant for us. Beth called that night and asked when she could bring Daphney home to our house in Monroe, Ga. We were ecstatic and could not wait for her to arrive. She is such a joy, a clown and a sock thief! Thank you again for making our family complete again.
