Update on Skye written by The Boler Family

First and foremost, Skye is content and healthy. She eats like a horse ... reminds me of feeding a teenager.

Skye's favorite games are tug-of-war (typical dog activity) and ripping up paper towels (I did not see that coming!). She loves to grab a towel from the roll and run as fast as she can, pulling the roll of towels with her. The faster and higher the towels fly the better.

My children love caring for Skye and have fallen into a nice routine. Luckily my daughter is a morning person because Skye wimpers to let us know she is awake by 6:15 everyday. She gets two walks and lots of attention before the kids go to school, then she settles down at my feet while I work. She greets the school bus every afternoon, and the neighborhood kids just love her. Of course, Skye loves the attention! My son runs and plays fetch with her in the afternoon -- both of them need to release lots of energy, so it works well all around.

Skye continues to grow rapidly. She is huge, and cuter than ever. She now can explore the entire house, although she still requires supervision (of course, we have to protect our shoes and stuffed animals!). Her personality is becoming more evident ... very loving with a playful streak. She is very insistent when she wants to play, and tug-of-war is her favorite. She loves to jump on the beds and couch and still thinks she is a lap dog. She'll fly onto a lap, pinning the person on the couch or chair, and look up with her big brown eyes as if to say, "You can't move until I get my share of petting!"

She quiets down fairly quickly now, and she can sit for hours on our feet. She has learned sit, down, stay, and off (although she still has trouble keeping her paws off the counter), and we're working on heel. The only problem we have is that she is sure she belongs at the dinner table ... she just cannot understand why we don't set a place for her!

We could not be more pleased to have Skye in our family. She has added a new degree of fun and silliness to the house, and we love her warm kisses and cuddles. Granted, she is getting a bit too big to be a lap dog! Seriously, she is a joy! Thank you and all the members of GRRA for making the adoption so easy and rewarding.
