I’m a wonderful Golden lady who is in search of a loving forever home.  My foster Mom reports that I am such a happy girl who simply loves life, whether it’s riding in the car, going for walks, laying in the sun, wandering around the backyard or watching TV.  I get along fine with the kids I’ve met and just wag my tail and let them pet me.  I need to lose a few pounds (I've already lost 7!) and my regular walks are helping me gain back my girlish figure.  I know some commands too like “come here” and I know how to sit (if a bone or treat is involved I will sit right away!) and I’m learning how to “lay down” and “stay”.  Mom says I’m a very quick learner in regards to the house rules and only need to be told something once. I am all Golden from nose to tail except for one beautiful ice-blue eye. GRRA found me in a shelter and am I glad it seems I was left outside a lot in my previous home and I have developed a habit of escaping. Hopefully with love and a family to call my own, my wanderlust will cease, but until then, I should never be unleashed in an unfenced area. My foster Dad reports that I am always looking for way to be somewhere else – in fact, I tried climbing a 4 foot iron fence, but couldn’t get a proper toofhold to propel me to the other side. If there’s an open door, I will take flight and run like the wind. I’m not good at coming back either – too many things out there in the world for me to see! So, you get the point that my new family should take care of me and have a secure home and be ever vigilant. I am friendly and loving to everyone and I get along fine with other dogs. There are other Goldens in my foster home and I finally learned not to bother some of the older “stuffy” ones with “please play with me” requests, but one of them likes to play with me and we play and play until were are both soaked and worn out. Then I like to play some more! My wonderful foster home is teaching me lots of new things -- I know how to 'sit' and 'lay' by hand commands and I continue to learn each day since I’m so smart. My new family should continue to provide me with training and plenty of exercise. I am one beautiful, loving Golden boy who likes to give hugs and though I didn’t have much attention/love/control in my previous life, I am ready and waiting for that now.
