Melinda Lahmers
Director, Placement and FTA Program
Professional Experience:
Melinda has a Bachelor of Science degree (medical dietetics) from Ohio State University. While working as a clinical dietitian at Fostoria Community Hospital and then Mount Carmel Medical Center for almost 20 years, she instructed patients how to handle chronic medical diseases through evidenced-based nutrition counseling. She excelled in leading community nutrition programs and integrated the latest research trends into practice.
Dog Experience:
Melinda’s love of dogs prompted her to join GRRA in 2015. Since that time she has filled many critical roles within the organization. For example from September, 2015 to present she has been an adoption consultant working with new adoption applicants to find them the “perfect dog”. From November 2017 until July 2019, she served as the Director of Placement in addition to serving on the Board of Directors in 2018 and 2019. She very capably performs all required audits of all adoption contracts, updates to the GRRA website, and to our primary database from 2019 until present. When GRRA established the Foster to Adopt Program (FTA) in mid-2023, Melinda was installed as Program Manager and continues to do an outstanding job. Melinda works tirelessly to find every dog in the program with GRRA a new forever loving home.
