Paws for Success

The goal of the Paws for Success Training program is to rehabilitate dogs with behavior, socialization, and/or training issues. Dogs who enter our program work with professional trainers and behaviorists as well as members of the “Paws” team with the end goal of being successfully adopted. It has been said that “You can’t change a dog’s past, but you could rewrite his future.” And that is just what we are striving to do with our “Paws” program. Once we identify dogs that need more assistance than our traditional FTA or Foster programs can provide, we now offer another avenue for them to flourish. We have partnered with a highly respected “Board & Train” facility as well as other trainers within the Atlanta area that share our philosophies/goals, and we work with them to develop individualized programs aimed at addressing each individual dog’s needs to help ensure the best possible outcome.

Dogs accepted into the program may have issues including but not limited to:
Anxiety
Socialization
Resource guarding
Fear related reactive behavior
Need for basic obedience

The Paws for Success team work closely with the trainers/behaviorists and the dogs from the time they enter the program until their final adoption. When a dog has been deemed ready to leave the program the “Paws” team will work diligently to find the best possible applicant for the dog. Once a dog has been adopted the “Paws” team members stay in contact with the adoptive family to offer assistance and support to help ensure a successful transition for both the dog and their adoptive parents.
Without the Paws for Success program many dogs that may have been deemed unadoptable due to no fault of their own will be left to languish in shelters or worse yet be put down. Our goal is to help these dogs that may be viewed as “damaged goods” become whole again. Thanks to the “Paws” program and our volunteers we can give these pups the second chance that they so rightly deserve.
